VS VennScopeScientific Set Analysis

Free scientific utility · no account

Compare sets. Inspect every intersection. Export figures for publication.

Paste or import scientific, statistical or arbitrary identifier lists — including genes, proteins, metabolites and pathways. Calculations are performed in your browser; dataset contents are not uploaded to VennScope.

Private by design

Your scientific lists stay in this browser session. Verified exports send only a cryptographic file hash and non-scientific export metadata to the verification service.

Exact counts exclude identifiers that also occur in other displayed sets.

Paste lists on the left, import files, or open the educational synthetic example.

Exact vs inclusive

Know what the count means.

Exact A ∩ B excludes identifiers also present in other sets. Inclusive A ∩ B includes them.

Venn vs UpSet

Use the right representation.

Venn is recommended for two or three sets. For larger comparisons, UpSet is usually clearer and does not force complex circle geometry.

Reproducible export

Verification without uploading data.

For verified exports, the final file is hashed locally. Only the hash and export metadata are registered; raw identifiers remain on your device.

Figure licence

CC BY 4.0 figure use

To the extent VennScope-owned visual elements are protected by copyright or related rights, those elements may be used, shared and adapted under CC BY 4.0 with appropriate attribution. This does not alter ownership of your data or third-party content, and it does not license the proprietary VennScope software.

No visible watermark is forced onto exported figures.

Export & scientific integrity

VennScope cannot authenticate changes made outside the application. A verified export record can establish whether an exact file matches a file registered by VennScope at export time; it does not certify the scientific interpretation or the identity of the person exporting it.
